Kolkata Knight Riders, with eight points, with have a big challenge when they take on a rampant Chennai Super Kings in match number 33 of the Indian Premier League 2018. While Kolkata have been inconsistent, Chennai have been on top of their game with six wins in eight matches.
Kolkata will not have great memories of playing Chennai. The last time these two teams met, KKR failed to defend a 200 plus score. KKR would be keen to change things around this time. For the same, they would need the trio of Piyush Chawla, Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav to do well more so since the pacers have not quite been upto the mark.
If you look at Kolkata’s batting, Chris Lynn finally seems to be coming back to form. Andre Russell too has been in excellent hitting form, and if Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana can make bigger scores, it would help the team’s cause. Dinesh Karthik somehow hasn’t been able to replicate his form he showed in the final at Bangladesh.
Dream XI for Kolkata Knight Riders vs Chennai Super Kings: Dinesh Karthik (C) (W), Piyush Chawla, Tom Curran, Kuldeep Yadav, Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Nitish Rana, Andre Russell, Shivam Mavi, Robin Uthappa, Apporv Wankhade
Chennai would only be wanting to continue their great run. They have been lucky to have their ageing skipper MS Dhoni in such supreme hitting form. He is inching close to 300 runs in the series, and at a fantastic strike rate. It had been spectacular to watch.
The overall batting form of Chennai also had been unbelievably top notch. Ambati Rayadu has as many as 370 runs to his credit and at a fantastic strike rate. Shane Watson and Suresh Raina also have scored well. And whenever needed, Dwayne Bravo has delivered with the big hits.
