IPL 2018 ‘Raazi’ Super Sunday on May 6 saw Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt make an appearance in Bollywood Presents – Kent Cricket Live with ex-cricketing stars Brett Lee and Irfan Pathan.
The highlight of the show was the duo’s musical performance – who surprised her with a spontaneous song – marking the versatile duo’s first ever musical collaboration off the field.
Alia wasted no time in covering a variety of topics including her views on IPL, how Dhoni would make an excellent spy and her adoration for KKR pacer Shivam Mavi. Viewers were also given a sneak peek into Alia’s upcoming movie ‘Raazi’, which marks the actress’ debut in period films and sees her in the role of a 20-year-old spy from the 1970’s.
When asked about her views on which cricketer would make a good spy, the actress said: “I think Mahendra Singh Dhoni would make a fabulous spy. His facial expressions are totally on point. For me Dhoni is perfect for the role of a spy.”
On IPL, Alia added, “The tournament is a very ‘parivarik’ experience which involves the entire family in a bundle of entertainment. The best part about IPL is the fact that it gives a spectacular opportunity to youngsters to showcase their talent by giving them a really big opportunity.”
Alia swayed the hearts and minds of Brett Lee and Irfan Pathan as the trio talked cricket, IPL and the actres’ favorite players in the tournament. Highlighting her fondness for KKR pacer Shivam Mavi, Alia said “I think the KKR pacer Shivam Mavi has a lot of potential and I really like him. He’s doing really well in IPL despite his injury. If there is a story to share about young talent doing well in IPL, it is Shivam Mavi’s story.”
Alia was seen trying to teach ‘Binga’ Brett Lee one of Bollywood’s most famous dialogues “Rishte me toh hum tumhare baap lagte hai”.
