West Indies and Sri Lanka will take on each other in a new Test series starting at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad on Wednesday.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams in the Caribbean in 10 years.
Sri Lanka have not had the best preparation with opener Dimuth Karunaratne and fast bowlers Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Pradeep out due to its injury. Dhananjaya de Silva has had to battle personal tragedy having lost his father. While he is back in West Indies, he is unlikely to take part in the first Test.
For West Indies, Devon Smith is making a comeback after three years, having scored over 1000 runs for Windward Islands in the domestic competition. Uncapped wicketkeeper-batsman Jahmar Hamilton has also been called up.
West Indies have left out Jermaine Blackwood while fast bowler Alzarri Joseph is unavailable with a stress fracture. The second Test will be held at St Lucia and the third match in Barbados will be the first-ever day-night Test in the Windies.
