England Women will be keen to level the series when they take on South Africa in the second ODI at Hove on Tuesday. The hosts were clearly outplayed by the Proteas in the first ODI, by seven wickets.
The previous ODI was England first on home soil since defeating the Indians in the World Cup final. England have not had a great time since the title triumph. They recently lost the three-match series in India.
South Africa, on the other hand, came into the series having thrashed Bangladesh 5-0. The bowling was brilliant in the first game, and but for Katherine Brunt’s unbeaten 72 they would have bowled out England cheaply. With the bat, Lizelle Lee’s 92 not out was the standout effort.
